Feng–Chun Ting:  Life in Full color at AIT
Ting.jpgSchool of Environment Resources and Development provides opportunity to the students to study in other partner universities for one or two semester under the student exchange program. Recently one student from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan visited AIT and studied for one semester in AARM field of study.  Mr. Feng-chun Ting from Taiwan is the first student to undergo exchange program with AARM field of study. Ting came to AARM during January 2009 semester. He shared some of his experiences during his stay at AIT with us. According to Mr. Ting AIT is the place to enjoy life as exchange student compared to other institutes in US and Europe.  Besides studying and gaining practical knowledge at AIT foreign students have a lot of time to visit to nearby places and countries, for example, Andaman, Sipadan (Borneo, Malaysia), Manado (Sulawesi, Indonesia) which are top 3 Diving sites. As AIT campus is just located at 1 hr drive from Suvanabhumi International Airport, students can easily visit nearby countries Malaysia, Singapore, Phillipines, Indonesia etc.  At AIT campus, all the dorms are managed by housekeepers (I believe many Taiwanese students want to live like this). One can even go crazy and try new places for traveling life in Thailand and go back to clean dorm to take a rest, so overseas life didn’t end up being measured out in endless chores. Ting also found new friends while living in AIT and experienced multicultural and diverse colorful student life. Although away from home Ting found a new family with good friends such as Arissara and Wiparat who never let him felt lonely and gave him loving and stable background during his stay at AIT. He had the opportunity to learn Thai language also. He is grateful to his parents, teacher – Helen and close friends for providing this memorable time. Ting hopes his experience will lead other future exchange students to come to AIT.
