Prof. C. Visvanathan was invited  by the Japan Waster Research Centre (JWRC)   to be a guest speaker in Tokyo, Japan from  24- 26  January, 2018.   This invitation was part of the  on going  AIT- JWRC collaboration  project  on NewTap project.  (http://www.jwrc-net.or.jp/aswin/en/newtap/).  During this visit, Prof. Visu,  discussed  with Prof. Ohgaki, the President of JWRC possible  research collaboration for 2018 and 2019.   During the JWRC’s seminar, he presented a lecture on “Role of Japanese  Water Experts in Developing Asian Countries”, which was attended by more than 80   water professional from industry sector.    During this visit, JWRC also organized a specialized technical visit to Kawai Water Treatment Plant in Yokohama city, which has one of the world’s biggest membrane based water treatment plant.   In addition to this,  during this visit he was also invited by the  University of Tokyo, to present a lecture on “Water Quality and Security in Asian Context: What 3R and Circular Economy can do”.
