Speaker Profile: Dr. Ramunė Albrektienė holds a bachelor and a master degree on chemistry. In 2013 she completed PhD in a Department of Water Engineering in Vilnius Gediminas Technical University. Dissertation was named as ‘Drinking water quality and research and improvement measures’. Dr. Albrektienė had been working in Drinking water laboratory in JSC ‘Vilniaus vandenys’ for 13 years. She started my career as an engineer and grew up till the head of laboratory. Since 2005 had been also simultaneously working in a Department of Chemistry and Bioengineering in Vilnius Gediminas Technical University. Now Dr. Albrektienė is lecturer in Water Engineering, Chemistry and Bioengineering departments at the same university. All activities are related to the quality, analysis and treatment technologies of drinking water. At this moment, my teaching subjects at the university are: Chemistry, Water chemistry and Water supply.
Dr. Albrektienė created educational project ‘What do you know about drinking water?’ With this project she has reached 160 classes in 60 schools and 200 groups in 54 kindergartens so far. However, Dr. Albrektienė is interested in water not only locally but all over the world.
