He is Professor in Environmental Engineering at the Department of Civil Engineering, National Institute of Technology, MANIT-Bhopal. Professor Kulshrestha holds a B. Tech. in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, IIT-Kanpur. He has an M. Tech. in Environmental Engineering also from IIT-Kanpur, and has a Doctorate in Environmental Engineering from IIT-Delhi.
Professor Kulshrestha has earlier been a Commonwealth Visiting Fellow to the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Leeds, UK, and has also conducted research at Centre d’Enseignement et de Recherche Eau Ville Environnement (Cereve), Ecole Nationale Des Ponts Et Chaussees (ENPC), Paris, France. He has served as Environment Specialist at the Bhoj Wetland Project, Bhopal, an internationally recognized Ramsar Wetland Site Conservation project undertaken with the help of Japan Bank for International Cooperation. He has also been an India Inspires expert panelist.
Professor Mukul Kulshrestha has widely travelled, and has more than 100 publications to his credit including 4 books. He is a reviewer to large numbers of International journals and publications. His research interests include Water and Wastewater, Water Sector Reforms and Policy, Solid Waste Management, Environmental Impact Assessment, Infrastructure Utility Performance Measurements, and Exploration of linkages between the Food and Climate Change.
